Finn ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and how we keep it safe. By using the Finn app, you agree to the practices described here.
Information We Collect
We collect the following types of information to provide and improve the Finn service:
- Account information — your name and email address when you create a Finn account.
- Financial data — credit card transaction history, account balances, and institution names, retrieved through Plaid on your behalf.
- Usage data — how you interact with the app (e.g., screens visited, features used) to improve the product experience.
- Device information — device type, OS version, and app version for diagnostics and compatibility.
Plaid Integration
Finn uses Plaid to securely connect to your financial institutions. When you link a bank account or credit card:
- Your banking credentials are entered directly into Plaid's secure interface — Finn never sees or stores your username or password.
- Plaid returns a secure access token that Finn uses to retrieve transaction data on your behalf.
- Plaid's data handling is governed by Plaid's Privacy Policy.
You can revoke Plaid's access to your accounts at any time from within the Finn app or through Plaid's data portal at my.plaid.com.
How We Use Your Information
- To display your transactions and spending summaries within the app.
- To authenticate you and maintain your account session securely.
- To detect and prevent fraud or unauthorized access.
- To improve the app experience based on aggregate usage patterns.
- To respond to your support requests.
We Do Not Sell Your Data
We do not sell, rent, trade, or otherwise share your personal or financial data with third parties for their marketing or commercial purposes. Your data is used solely to provide the Finn service to you.
Data Storage and Security
Your data is stored on secure, encrypted servers. We use industry-standard practices including HTTPS for all data in transit and encryption at rest. Access to your data is restricted to authorized personnel only.
While we take reasonable precautions, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. We encourage you to protect your account with a strong password and to notify us immediately at support@meetfinn.app if you suspect unauthorized access.
Data Retention and Deletion
We retain your data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service. You may request deletion of your account and all associated data by contacting us at support@meetfinn.app. We will process deletion requests within 30 days.
Children's Privacy
Finn is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, please contact us and we will promptly delete it.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "last updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically. Continued use of Finn after changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
