support@meetfinn.appFrequently Asked Questions
What is Finn?
Finn is an iOS app that connects to your credit cards through your bank and gives you a clear, real-time view of your transactions and spending. It helps you understand your spending habits with intuitive summaries and breakdowns — all in one place.
Is there a free trial?
Yes. Every new account starts with a 14-day free trial that unlocks full, Premium-level access to every feature — link multiple cards, budgets, alerts, trends, AI reports, and the Premium-only tools. There is no free tier after the trial: once it ends, you choose a paid plan to keep using Finn.
Do I need a payment method to start the trial?
Yes. The trial is started through the App Store, so a valid payment method on your Apple ID is required to begin. You will not be charged during the 14-day trial. When the trial ends, your subscription automatically converts to the paid plan you selected and your Apple ID is billed — unless you cancel before the trial ends.
How do I cancel, and what happens if I do?
You can cancel anytime from your Apple ID subscription settings (iPhone Settings → tap your name → Subscriptions → Finn). If you cancel during the 14-day trial, you will not be charged and access ends when the trial period is over. If you cancel a paid subscription, you keep access until the end of the current billing period and are not charged again.
What is the difference between Standard and Premium?
Standard ($4.99/month) includes everything most people need: linking multiple cards, budgets, spending alerts, monthly trends, auto-detected subscriptions, custom categories, notes and tags, and unlimited AI spending reports. Premium ($12.99/month) includes everything in Standard plus three power tools — splitting a charge across categories, retroactively bulk-recategorizing a merchant, and year-over-year trends.
How do I connect my bank?
Finn uses Plaid, the industry-standard financial data service, to securely connect to your bank or credit card issuer. During setup, tap "Add Card", select your institution from the list, and enter your online banking credentials directly in Plaid's secure screen. Finn never sees your banking username or password.
How do I delete my account?
You can request account deletion at any time by emailing support@meetfinn.app with the subject line "Delete my account". Include the email address associated with your Finn account. We will permanently delete your account and all associated data within 30 days of receiving your request.
Is my financial data safe?
Yes. Finn never stores your bank credentials. Bank connections are powered by Plaid, which uses bank-level encryption and security practices. Your transaction data is stored on encrypted servers and is never sold to third parties.
Which banks and credit cards are supported?
Finn supports thousands of financial institutions across the US through Plaid, including major banks (Chase, Bank of America, Wells Fargo, Citi, etc.) and credit card issuers (American Express, Capital One, Discover, and more). If your institution is not available, please contact us and we will look into adding support.
Why are my transactions not updating?
Transaction sync depends on your bank's data refresh schedule. Most institutions update within 24 hours. If transactions are missing for more than 2 days, try reconnecting your card from the Cards screen. If the issue persists, contact us at support@meetfinn.app.
